Prof Jonathan Moyo in fresh rape accusations

...as more sexual abuse allegations fly in.

Exiled former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo has responded to allegations by Sipho Nazoe Mazibuko that he sexually abused her some eleven years ago.

In a Facebook post on her page, Mazibuko confessed that she has been traumatised by the events which occurred while Professor Moyo was still an independent Member of Parliament for the Tshokotsho Constituency.

In the Facebook post, Mazibuko alleges that she reported the matter to the Police in Bulawayo but the case was swept under the carpet presumably in another case of corruption that may open a can of worms.

It is particularly disheartening to learn that the alleged sexual abuse, or rape as some would want to put it, occurred while Mazibuko was heavily pregnant, a situation which corroborates allegations about the likely abuse of power by the former legislator, who's societal standing would have compelled the learned Honourable member to play the guardian role to such vulnerable members of society.

As the news of Mrs Mazibuko filtered through, it sent social media in Zimbabwe into a frenzy, with outrage and anger flying all over the space.

A tweet by one Twitter user by the handle @butroes set the cat among the pigeons when it screamed, " Why did you RAPE Mazibuko"? This seems to have ignited the flame.

But it was not long before another handle went further and trolled the Professor on his Timeline and posed a few questions in vernacular, loosely translated, " What happened to Mazibuko? What happened Professor? Is this going to end well?"

It was after this hard probing that Professor Moyo felt hard done, prompting him to come out frothing on the mouth, with guns blazing in both hands.

In his quest to clear himself, and to scour for public sympathy, Professor Moyo predictably didn't waste a moment to drag his arch-enemy, President ED Mnangagwa, into the equation. He accused President Mnangagwa of being the driving force behind the latest accusations of sexual abuse, which happened well before President Mnangagwa was Vice President of Zimbabwe.

To make matters worse for him Professor Moyo went on to list several other previous allegations of Sexual abuse and rape in some cases, all of which have never been legally resolved, pointing to a habitual sexual offender who could have successfully used his influence under the cover of the government of former President and strong man Robert Mugabe.

A social media handle @FriendsED went further to challenge Professor Jonathan Moyo to come forward and clear his name before the Courts in Zimbabwe so that, going forward ,all doubts about his moral conduct will not be raised again.

In response to a Herald story by Hatred Zenenga, Professor Moyo referred to the story as defamatory and scandalous.Yet he fell short of threatening legal recourse.

The question that remains is whether Professor Moyo will have the guts to approach the Courts to sue for defamation, when infact he should be appearing before the same Courts to defend himself against the same allegations.Only time will tell.

In a Twitter thread, Moyo said the allegations weree unfounded, baseless and scandalous, as well as meant to drag his name into the mud. Hereunder we reproduce verbatim, the Twitter thread by Professor Jonathan Moyo in which he vainly tries to exonerate himself from any wrongdoing.

Professor Moyo writes;

" Dear Hatred Zenenga, Editor, Herald Zimbabwe

Hatred, I refer to your scurrilously defamatory story in the @HeraldZimbabwe today (18 January 2021) in which you allege that I face rape accusations. I take your scandalously false allegations seriously!

Your story alleges that Mrs Sipho Mazibuko claims in a Facebook post that I “RAPED” her 11 years ago. Her attached Facebook post that I’ve seen alleges that I “SEXUALLY ABUSED” her, which I categorically & emphatically deny. You’ve elevated her “sexual abuse” claims to RAPE!

On 13 January 2021, your @HeraldZimbabwe published a revealing article about Mrs Sipho Mazibuko and her issues that I am attaching herewith, whose contents speak for themselves, as a background to your scurrilously defamatory story published today.

I note that you shamelessly think you can get some weight to support your scurrilously defamatory story by citing a tweet posted by a ZanuPF youth league member on my Twitter TL. No one needs a rocket scientist to see what’s going on. I thank you for the unintended insight.

While you cited the ZanuPF youth league member, because he invoked the “RAPE” word, you clumsily avoided referring to a tweet posted on Saturday on my Twitter TL by @FriendsEd (Friends Of Mnangagwa); to vainly cover-up @edmnangagwa 's dirty hands in this!

FRIENDS OF ED CRAP:

* Moyo sexually abused woman at Kwekwe Assembly Point in 1980.

* Moyo had homosexual sex with Alum Mpofu * Moyo impregnated & killed Jackie Madondo * Moyo sexually abused Yulith Ndlovu

* Moyo abused his late daughter

* Moyo abused Sipho Mazibuko.

You slyly allege that I “left Zimbabwe hurriedly in 2017”. You desperately want to cover up the fact that Emmerson Mnangagwa, who specialises in criminalising his political opponents, sent 25 soldiers with AK47s & grenades to attack me & my family at our home on 15 Nov 2017!

And Hatred, you refer to a missing @PoliceZimbabwe report.

At no time in my life did any @PoliceZimbabwe officer anywhere in Zimbabwe engage me on these false and outrageous allegations.

Also, I never had any direct or indirect involvement with Mrs Mazibuko’s psychiatric care!

I empathise with Sipho Mazibuko’s situation. It’s outrageous for you Hatred & your handlers to exploit it this way. For the record, I never spent a second of my life with Sipho Mazibuko alone. Specifically, I was not a minister 11 years ago & I never saw nor spoke to her then! "

Until now Professor Moyo has not yet responded to demands by @FriendsED to come home, present himself before the Courts and clear his name on these allegations and many others that include Corruption and embezzlement.
