Opposition Is Confused by The New Dispensation's Political Ideology and Economic Strategies

A reflection on Psalms 133_

The events of Nover 2017 were not expected by the majority of Zimbabweans, if not 98% of them. Zimbabwe had a legend admired by the ruling party members and even the general citizens not aligned to the opposition.

RG Mugabe was the franchise, the icon and the vigilantes. A leader educated and well managing the factions of ZANUPF and understanding the brain diagram. It was inconceivable that such a great leader, albeit, iron fisted Ruler would be ousted from power by any means necessary. And indeed the opposition failed. Their only victory against him was in the Olympics of 2008 where Tsvangirai broke a personal record time in swimming in the crocodile infested pool but failed to qualify for the finals. The result was a GNU medal and not gold or silver nor bronze.

The opposition had no capacity to execute an Arab spring revolution. Dzamara attempted it and he failed. Tajamuka/ Sesijikile campaigns tried and they failed. Several CSOs funded by the west had tried but failed. It took the ZANLA and ZIPRA forces ( now ZDF) to convince their iconic leader to resign from power after they had seen that the Zimbabwe "situation had reached another level" a famous statement read on ZBCTV by the late minister of foreign affairs and international trade.

The tanks had been rolled into the streets for a smooth hand over of power from the old to the new dispensation. Tha situation was the legitimate justification for the need for change. The President had been captured by his corrupt lieutenants and the first lady Grace Mugabe was continously provocative and insulting the military.

Robert Mugabe had ruled Zimbabwe since 1980 as prime minister reporting to 120 member parliament that consisted of 20 reserved seats for white supremacy. From 1980 to 1986 we can say he was a Mandela so accomadative and respecting the imposed Lancaster agreement. Zimbabwe had come through treachery [ allowing white supremacy to hold on to land for 10 more years and to be into government with us and for them to write our Constitution] but the talks leading to political independence after a long protracted war of liberation were still acceptable compromise. For ian smith and his fellow racists had committed genocide.

Thousands and thousands of precious blood of innocent Zimbabweans had been lost and more actually were to be lost even white casualties since _magandanga_ were at the approach of outright victory just as the Haitians had done to the French.

Lancaster Agreement in which whites demanded 4% stake in every key institution for a transition into independence was the first compromise our leaders did to stop further blood shed and for us to become an independent and sovereign nation. We shall not talk about the details of the insurgency in parts of Midlands and Matabeleland which caused a civil war in the early 80s.

We will therefore fast track to 1987 unity accord. Here we have Robert Mugabe and Dr Nkomo forming a first GNU in free Zimbabwe amongst indigenous political parties. What we want you to overstand is that after the signing of that irrevocable agreement, God and our Ancestors rewarded Zimbabweans with a decade of national unity, peace and prosperity. Of course there were some challenges such as are common in all nations but to a good degree we can see that 1987 to 1997 was a decade of economic growth and stability. God's words through the Psalmist were proven true,

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing,* even life for evermore."

Political analysts or rather vigilant historians and politicians understand that in 1996 the Opposition was conceived and it took 36 months pregnancy for it to be birthed in 1999 September 11. The formation was genuine and constitutional although it was predominantly labor movement ZCTU translating into a political party in protest to ESAP policy of the government amongst other challenges the urban people would generally feel uncomfortable with.

But what is key is to see that the decade of prosperity ends just as the opposition gets conceived. Another hidden truth is that Mugabe in 1996 had actually angered so called human rights advocates at an international book fair that was held here.

Mugabe went and overturned the tables of LGBT people who wanted to spread homophilia in Zimbabwe through exhibition of their activities at the book fair. Cde Mugabe resisted homosexuality and Lesbians agenda. NOW WATCH THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, it took less than a year for the Zimbabwe dollar to crush in October of 1997. Coincidence!? So the decade of peace and prosperity ended.

Then comes 1999 September 11. #ThisDate9/11. The opposition was formed. White supremacy infiltrated Zimbabwe through so called democracy and human rights. CFU rides on the mechanic engine of the opposition, Zimbabweans are divided between ZANUPF and MDC, no more unity amongst brethren. God and our Ancestors are angered, they inspire Mugabe and his cdes to get land with use of arms from the white folk before Britain had compensated her children. Year 2000 Government of Zimbabwe gives land to Black indigenous Zimbabweans.

Hundreds of thousands of family heads get land. But there is no more that national unity, peace and stability. God withdraws the blessings. The very year sanctions of mass destruction are drafted by USA and in the following year 2001 the economic warfare sanctions are unleashed on Zimbabwe. White monopoly economy is deliberately shut down. Billions of dollars externalised and we are back into political challenges and so called democracy. But this ushers in the era we call democratic freedom. It comes with disproportionate reaction by Mugabe administration to the civic society and opposition protests and some of their unpatriotic activities.

From 2000 to 2009 its all brother against brother. A decade of instability and economic recession. We lost our currency value for the first time. Infact it actually dies. Then cometh the GNU of 2009. Now observe, God and our Ancestors give us some stability, peace and half prosperity. Unity of brethren despite the GNU wasn't irrevocable as the 1987 unity accord. But the important thing to observe is the fact that President Mugabe is shaking hands with prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai.

Even radical and learned student activist professor Mutambara is sworn in as co-deputy prime minister. Zimbabwe has its first woman deputy prime minister Hon Thokozani Khupe . Brothers and sisters are in unity again AND GOD COMMANDS THE BLESSING. Sanctions are relaxed. " We are the beneficiaries of sanctions , we no longer need these sanctions..." the chorus of prime minister and his deputy at the World Economic Forum. Prof Mutambara was articulate and campaigned against sanctions, same as prime member Tsvangirai. So the SMDs were relaxed, investors come and people enjoy a half decade of prosperity.
